The installation “…the land beneath tired feet” is my personal reflection on the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine. At its core lies the image of a wounded landscape — devastated soil that has always carried a sacred meaning for Ukrainians. It embodies both pain and loss, yet also strength and resilience.
The ruined land becomes a symbol of the nation: exhausted, scarred, but unbroken. A small white clay house, placed among fragments of earth and debris, recalls memories of life before the war and at the same time stands as an image of hope — the promise of renewal.
This project speaks of Ukrainians’ profound bond with their land, of unity and endurance, and of the unbreakable spirit that ensures our survival and rebirth.
